Banani overpass work in full steam Star Report The construction of Mirpur-Airport flyover and Banani overpass is going on in full swing. The 1.8-kilometre flyover is scheduled to finish in October next year while the 0.8-km overpass in June next. Once the Tk 193-crore project is implemented, travel time from Mirpur and Pallabi to airport, Banani, Gulshan and Kuril Badda and vice versa will significantly come down. The detour at Bijoy Sarani on this route will not be necessary once the flyover is completed. Commuters from Mirpur are expected to travel across cantonment in just 10 minutes. An estimated 30,000 vehicles will use the flyover every day. Meanwhile, the Banani overpass will facilitate uninterrupted traffic movement between Kakoli and Mohakhali.
