Winter Clothes Distributed by Durnibar Foundation
Durnibar Foundation strives to make a difference in the lives of the poverty-stricken people by lending a helping hand to them in times of distress. This winter, Durnibar Foundation has hosted its annual winter clothes drive by donating blankets and warm clothes among the needy (over 200 families) in the Hajaribag (Boubazar) slums which were burnt in a lately occurred fire accident.

Around fifty volunteers dressed in blue, lead by the President, Anshah Anju Khan Chowdhury, Vice Presidents--Arnab Banik and Ashik Alam Dhruba, General Secretary, Azman Anju Khan Chowdhury and Assistant General Secretary, Abrar Ali Chowdhury visited the slums on December 21, 2012. In the morning the volunteers were given a briefing at Dhanmondi, from where they were taken to the slums by Durnibar's transportation. After three and a half hours of warm clothes distribution, the event finally came to an end.
It was a great success for Durnibar Foundation when smiles spread across the thousand faces as they received the clothes and blankets. The event was sponsored by BDDL and Aqua Mineral. Media partners included The Daily Star, Samakal, Amar Desh, Radio Today and a few other newspapers. Durnibar Foundation plans to donate more clothes along with food and rebuild destroyed slums in its upcoming event.
