In this issue Happy Birthday Dhaka University Established in 1921 Dhaka University is the first university of East Bengal (later East Pakistan, now Bangladesh). Dhaka University was considered an imperial concession made to conciliate the hurt feelings of the Muslim middle class of East Bengal consequent upon the annulment of the Partition of Bengal in 1911.
