Charity at Home
The cover story this time is a little different from usual. It reports on a concert where the three leading female singers of the country have come together and performed in the same show for the first time. This was a charity concert to help out the victims of Cyclone Sidr. All three singers as well as the sponsor of the show weigh in on what they think is the significance of this concert and where they would like to see the things go. The all express a kind of nostalgia for the kinds songs that were sung before, and the way things used to be.
Another unusual story is on pig farming in Bangladesh. You don't hear much about real pigs in the country but pig farmers do exist, and there is a market for it. The writer suggests that even though the majority of us do not consume pork, perhaps there is a foreign market to be captured if local entrepreneurs start exporting it? These are interesting questions regarding culture and business.
