Independence Day of South Korea

Shohag Mostafij

INDEPENDENCE Day is the day, which symbols the liberty of the nation. In this day, the state gets full freedom, and they are an end to under, or part of any province or state. South Korea got its sovereignty on August 13, 1948. Though, it is formally celebrated on the August 15.

In fact, The Independence Day of South Korea is the day when it was no longer under the Japan occupation, which it has been for a long time and became Republic. It was on 1905, when an accord took place well-known as Taft-Katsura agreement, after that the Japanese in 1910 took its control over the Korea communications system, political as well as economic conditions. This was not only sufficient, as the Japanese even tried to make the Koreans people to be a part of their culture.

Moreover, The Koreans revolted many time to get back their economic and social independence. One of the largest movements, which they had started for their independence, was on 1919. It was after the two major parts of Japan i.e. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were brutally attacked by the two atom bombs, that the Japan had surrendered and the South Korea got its independence. This even marked the end of the World War II in 1945.

After becoming a republic country, South Korea separated its government into three main branches: legislative, judicial and executive. If truth be told South Korea is a constitutional democracy. There is no restriction on practicing any region in the South Korea. The culture that South Korea adapts is from it adjacent country China.

Furthermore, after many years, the Korea was victorious in getting free from the control of Japan .This day is affirmed as the public holiday all over the country. This day everything is closed and people in the country all come together to celebrate with immense pleasure and zeal. It is like a carnival for the Koreans and the entire country looks very beautiful. A parade is held, national flag is hoisted in order to show the reverence to the heroes of the country, who gave away their life with the purpose of getting freedom for the country. Therefore, the homage to all the freedom fighters is paid on this day.

There is no denying that South Korea has developed so fast over the three decades. The mass people's commitment, hard work and patriotism made them arrive at the climax of success. Now the South Korean government focuses on the development of the developing countries and works on numerous aid projects around the world. Even the bi-lateral relationship between the Bangladesh and South Korea is very good too. We certainly could follow the development module of South Korea for our nation's prosperity. As a result, heartiest felicitation is shown to all the South Koreans all over Bangladesh and around the globe on this special Independence Day.
