Baishakhi Mela at
Scholastica Senior Section

SCHOLASTICA Senior Section celebrated Pahela Baishakh by organising a grand Baishakhi Mela at the Uttara Campus from 9 am till 4 pm on Friday ,30th April 2010( 17th Baishak, 1417). Inauguration of the Mela commenced with a colorful Baishakhi Rally with masks, balloons and flowers, followed by a horse carriage ride. The rally was led by the chief guest Ms. Madiha Murshed, Deputy Managing Director of Ascent Group and the principal, teachers and officials in the management. The entire school was all dressed in red and white and there was an absolute reflection of Bangali culture and heritage everywhere.

There were food, clothes and jewellery stalls in the mela. The biggest attraction of the Baishakhi Mela was “Banor Nach”,“Nagor Dola” and “tom tom ride”. Apart from all outdoor activities, an impressive cultural programme was organised by the students. An open stage was set up at the courtyard for anyone to perform.

With dhol, Baul songs and flute, students, teachers and management of Scholastica danced the day away in full festive mood.
