Discussion on Law Education at Premiere University

PREMIER University Law Alumni Association (PULAA) organized a dialogue on 'What Sort of Legal Education is Recommended?' on 24 December 2009 at Premiere University Auditorium, Probortok Circle, Chittagong. The programme saw Prof. Dr. Anupam Sen, Vice-Chancellor (VC), Premier University as Chief Guest while Prof. Zakir Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong and member of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission graced the occasion as moderator. The programme focused on corruption of the Private Universities, such as, numerous sale of certificate by several Private Universities on LL.B. (Honours) for two years while the duration of the degree in any reputed public and private universities is four years. On the other hand, Premier University Law Alumni Association (PULAA) started its journey through this programme. Other notables present were A. B. M. Abu Noman, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong; Advocate Ziauddin, General Secretary, Chittagong District Bar Association; Advocate Chandan Das, Ex-General Secretary, Chittagong District Bar Association; S.M. Mohiuddin Hasan, Acting Chairman and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Law, Premiere University.
