ARCHITECTURE Week 2009 was inaugurated on 9th July by Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University. The week long exhibition showcased selected student projects of the Department of Architecture.

A one-day Design Charrette (design competition) was held on 10th July where students from all architecture schools of public and private universities participated. Rupali Chowdhury, MD of BERGER Paints Bangladesh Ltd, gave prizes for the three winning positions and three honorable mentions. Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University, Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury was also present in the ceremony.

Architecture for kids (Arch.Kids), an outreach programmr of the department was arranged a three hour workshop on 12th July. In this workshop children of 8-10 years of age participated from different schools.

A famous Bengali film “ Surjotoron” was also shown on the next day.

Moreover, Angan comprised of a discussion session by eminent architects, historians and landscape designers.

The architecture week ended with a cultural programme arranged by the students.
