Shakespeare Visits ULAB!!
“To be, or not to be: that is the question” Hamlet, William Shakespeare
On 29th April, the English Department of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) had organized one of the most memorable events in the history of the university Shakespearean Drama! And we are not talking about any particular drama written by the King of Literature, but critical and vital scenes chosen from seven of his most renowned plays. The event was organized to pay ULAB's tribute to Shakespeare on his 443th birth and also the 391st death anniversary that was on the 23rd of April. Moreover, the occasion was special as all the work including the acting, directing, lighting, music and even the stage designing was done by the teachers and the students of the English Department.
Four motivating teachers, Ms. Nasrin Islam, Ms. Tahmina Zaman, Ms. Musarrat Shameem and Mr. Abdullah Al Mamun along with 15 thrilled students fall on this list for carrying out such a fruitful event. The faculty members of different departments, the Dean of the English Department, Dr. Razia Khan Amin, students and other guests witnessed the tragedy of Hamlet, the comedy of A Midsummer Night's Dream or the romance of Romeo & Juliet. The clapping audiences were also enthralled by the compelling scenes from Macbeth, King Lear, Othello and As You Like It. ULAB has once again proved that even nearly 400 years later, the Bard of Avon still lives in our hearts and souls, hypnotizing us through his magical words that is and will conquer both time and space.
