Efadul Huq

It is a moment of pride for us,” says Gulshan Nasrin Chowdhury, Chairperson of Radiant Institution of Design, referring to the “Boishakhi Fashion Fair” which took place in the Institution compound in Orchid Plaza, Dhanmondi from 12th to 14th April. It has been two months since Radiant Institute of Design started but the response was enough to make this Fashion Fair a success. The students, aided by Head of the Fashion Designing Dept. Maruf Chowdhury, exhibited some rare talent. Saree to Panjabi; Bangles to ear-rings; nothing escaped their creativity. There were oriental show-pieces and Bengali folk art. Everything was carried out in the backdrop of Pahela Boishakh. The fair was inaugurated by the famed fashion designer Bibi Rasel. The teachers: Shamim-al-Mamun, Ariful Islam, A. K. M. Jakaria, Designer Sajjad also played a big role to make this fair possible. Along with the exhibition of hand-made clothes, the students had also arranged cultural shows in the last two days of this fair. What else remains to be said about this bunch of students and their fair? “They are very active and bright. They'll surely shine in life,” says Gulshan Nasrin Chowdhury.
