Pahela Baishakh is not just a day to mark the beginning of Bangla New Year. Rather, it carries a lot of emotion. It is the most celebrated festival of our country, treated as a festival of the soul. The whole nation unites together to observe the day, which has become a tradition as well as a passion. This year, the students of IBA celebrated the day with a bang. They observed a daylong program to welcome the New Year as well as to show their love for Bengali culture.

Entering IBA premises early in the morning of Pahela Baishakh, it seemed like IBA itself was a surprise. The whole colossal building was adorned superbly in traditional manner. The students of the newly admitted 15th Batch put their heartiest effort to make it as beautiful as possible and their effort paid-off. Almost all of IBA, including entrance, lobby, canteen and stairs were decorated with fine posters, banners, showpieces, kites and other decorative stuffs. Students of every batch paid a visit to their dear institution in traditional attire. The presence of some respectable teachers made the program more magnificent. IBA was full of life, and glittering in endless ecstasy. It has become a tradition of IBA that the junior-most BBA batch publishes a wall-magazine on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh. This year, 15th Batch continued the legacy with even more enthusiasm. After long days of strenuous work, the magazine "Jogakhichuri" got its shape. Everything about the magazine was done with much care. The decoration and composition of the wall-magazine was unique and wonderful in nature. Mahfuz and his team mates Himel, Allama, Esha, Winey, Iffat, Sumaiya, Farzana, Shoaib, Tausif, Saqif, Farah and a lot of other people contributed in this work. There were many types of writing including poetry, articles, and fiction. The director of IBA, Prof. Dr. Md. Ziaulhaq Mamun and BBA Program Chairperson, Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Saiful Majid, enhanced the glory of the magazine by providing their own writing. The wall-magazine looked like a piece of spectacular art, praised by everyone who saw and read it.

The most amazing part of the celebration probably started at around 3:00 p.m., when the cultural program was held. The program, organized by IBA students and based on the theme of Pahela Baishakh, was absolutely mind-blowing. It started with a chorus of "esho hey baishakh, esho esho". Then the students rocked the IBA auditorium with their awesome performance including Rabindra Sangeet, traditional songs, and classical dance. It also contained a short play.

The director of IBA, Prof. Dr. Md. Ziaulhaq Mamun and Chairman of MBA program, Prof. Mushtaque Ahmed were present in the cultural function. One of the major attractions of the program was the IBA director's recitation of a poem. Almost all the performers including Nazia, Subehee, Mehnaz, Hoimy, Refayet, Rahiba, Muntasir, Nawhsin, and Prakash performed extremely good. A large number of people watched the program with great enthusiasm. All the performances were splendid and earned huge applause from the audience.
