Words n' Pages turns two

Sarah

Sitting in the heart of Gulshan, this cosy little bookstore celebrated its 2nd anniversary on 10 December. To mark the occasion, it welcomed its guests by adorning the entrance with flamboyant balloons. The whole place sported a cheery look. There were huddles of earnest readers everywhere. Children were also seen to be enjoying the party. And to whoop up another year of its success Words n' Pages arranged for its visitants some exciting list of events. With all the neatly aligned books and a joyous mood in the air it promised of a memorable evening.

The programme started with a "Oregami show" for the children, which was open to all till 9.30.This innovative way of entertaining the kids was adopted to influence the practise of this ancient art. Later, ten of the participants were called out for their inspiring folded crafts made from paper. As the evening neared all preparations were done to put on the musical soiree. The first to perform were famous underground bands like Arcanian Dreams, Nemesis and Artcell. These bands warbled some of our favourite numbers. But the absolute delicacy offered for the evening was soloists 'Ornob' and 'Haider Hussain'. The culinary needs of the guests were also well taken care of. The audience was served complimentary appetizers of cheese straws, sandwiches and coffee. And the evening was finally depleted in utmost merrymaking.
