DCC initiatives to keep city clean


Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) has taken up massive programme to keep the city clean during and after the Eid-ul-Azha.

The DCC will employ 3,000 cleaners at 15 cattle markets for three days, 1,000 cleaners at 90 wards and 800 labourers with 160 trucks for cleaning garbage, says a press release.

Besides, 400 containers, 13 trailers, 6 bulldozers, two tire dozers, 22 dump trucks and 8 water lorries will be used for carrying and dumping garbage.

The government decided to set up mobile courts in different parts of the city from January 2 to January 4 to check pollution by cattle waste.

The DCC will conduct the mobile courts.
