Different political and cultural organisations including Communist Party of Bangladesh, Trade Union, Udichi Shilpi Goshti, Khethmozur Samity, Krishak Samity, Chatra Union and Jubo Union have taken programmes to observe the day.

The programmes include placing of wreaths at burning-ground of Shyampur, a discussion at the central office of CPB, rally, recitation and cultural programme.

The traditional Moni Singh mela has been organised at Susang Durgapur in Netrokona, the historical place of Tonk and Hazang movement.

Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina recalled the contribution of Comrade Moni Singh as an advisor to the Bangladesh government during the Liberation War and also as a hero of the Tonk Movement.
