Seminar on 'Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts' held at DIU

The Department of Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts of Daffodil International University (DIU) organised a seminar on 'Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts' on April 17, 2012 in its auditorium. Speakers at the seminar defined multimedia as a thrust sector and opined this sector can play a vital role in gaining foreign exchanges like the garments industry, if it is nursed properly. They also stressed on the importance of institutional education to develop this sector and urged new generation to educate themselves in Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts. They also thanked DIU for coming forward and launching the four year B Sc programme in Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts for the first time in Bangladesh.

Professor M Lutfar Rhman, Vice Chancellor, DIU was present as the chief guest. Country's renowned Multimedia specialist and Former President of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Mustafa Jabbar presented the keynote paper. Presided over by Professor Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of Multimedia Technology and Creative Arts, Mazibur Rahman Sawpon, Director, BCS were present as the special guests. A large number of students of different departments of DIU participated in the seminar.

Mustafa Jabbar described the application of multimedia, its usage, prospects of choosing it as a field of career or profession both in Bangladesh and worldwide. He also mentioned that nowadays Multimedia is a flourishing sector in Bangladesh and students have plenty of opportunities to work here. Not only the developed countries, our neighbouring countries like, India, China and Thialand are earning billions of Dollars from this sector.

Majibur Rahman Swapan said that the sector of IT is largely dependent on Multimedia Technology. He also said it is a tool through which one can show his creativity to the optimum level. The youth of our country are thriving with creativity so those who are studying in this field are likely to have bright futures in career building.
